WELCOME TO THE FRANKLIN CHURCH OF CHRIST

In a complicated age of clutter, FCC is urging a return to simplicity. We believe God wants us to make his last words (forming disciples) our top priority. Our process for doing that is simple and is rooted in the following values.

Spiritual Formation

The process of being conformed to the image of Christ for the sake of others

                                                                                 Robert Mulholland

At FCC, we believe that we are always being spiritually formed, whether or not we are aware of it or not. The question is, into what kind of people are we being formed. At FCC, spiritual formation has a distinct focus, and that focus is Jesus Christ. In our efforts to promote spiritual formation we strive to cultivate the following:

1. A rich understanding of their core identity as God’s beloved, and having this be the source from which life and ministry flow. False beliefs that arise out of deep wounds are addressed.

2. Godly character that reflects the spiritual, relational, and emotional maturity of Christ. Identifying woundedness by significant others and the need to forgive and become an agent of grace are explored.

3. A sense of calling that serves as a platform for servant leadership. We aspire to move people from depleted victimization to a place of richly resourced and restful servant-hood.

4. A level of competence in the disciplines and skills relevant to ministry that is formational in its character. Practicing the classical disciplines of the spiritual life in order to “position” ourselves to receive life from Him.
